Easy Appetizers - Bacon Wrapped Tater Tots

I recently got the inspiration to make lots of appetizers for a holiday get together. Because I like bacon and always have it in house, I decided to go bacon crazy and wrap pretty much anything I could find in bacon blankets.

I saw this recipe online and felt it was certainly easy enough and somewhat unique. I mean, who doesn't like tater tots? So I went to my local store and bought some Alexia brand with roasted garlic and black pepper. By themselves, they are a great upgrade to plain tots. but once I got done, they were amazing!

Ingredients

One bag of tots, your choice (you probably won't use the whole bag)
Several slices of your favorite bacon (I used Wright brand peppered bacon)
Your choice of cheese (optional, but it made them even better)
Brown sugar

Directions

Start by slicing the bacon into thirds

On a cutting board or other work surface, lay out the bacon and other ingredients.

Lay a strip of cheese or a small pile of shredded onto one end of the bacon. Then lay a tot on one end of the cheese and roll them up with the bacon and secure with a toothpick.  Sprinkle or roll in the brown sugar.

I cooked them for about 15 minutes at 375 degrees but do keep an eye on them. I go by the doneness of the bacon.

Let cool a bit (they are molten hot inside) and enjoy!
